Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor at WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became morning news anchor at WCBD TV and acted as an investigative reporter. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell an award for the Best Report of the year Award to the entire South Carolina media. O'Dell's work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor and investigative reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to joining Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. In addition, she serves as an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
